Tenerife South Airport has only one terminal building. The arrivals area is based on the ground- and lower floor of the terminal building. You may be able to disembark via one of the air bridges or you may be taken to the terminal building by shuttle bus – this will be determined by your aircraft’s allocated parking stand.
The distances within the terminal building vary slightly, depending on your arrival gate. The furthest gate is located at around 8 minutes’ walking distance from passport control. The arrivals terminal is equipped to cater for disabled passengers and wheelchair users. If you require assistance on arrival at Tenerife South Airport, you will need to inform the airport in advance. Please see our Disability Assistance page for further details.
Passengers arriving at Tenerife South Airport will find a number of useful facilities in the arrivals area. These include banking and currency exchange facilities, a Post Office, VIP lounge, and meeting room facilities along with a wide selection of shops and restaurants. In arrivals, you will also find an excellent tourist information office. Free Wi-Fi is available inside the terminal building.
After arriving and disembarking follow the signs to passport control. The Canary Islands are party to the Schengen Agreement, but if you are arriving from outside the Schengen Area, passport control is obligatory. Please see our Tenerife Entry Requirements page for more information.
If you are travelling from outside the European Union and have goods to declare, you will have to go through customs. For further information on importing goods, please see the “Your Europe” website.
Once you have passed through passport control if you have baggage to collect, follow signs to the two Baggage Reclaim Halls which are situated on the ground and first floors. There are 14 carousels in total. Check the screens to see which carousel your flight is assigned to.
If for any reason, your baggage does not arrive or arrives damaged, you should immediately contact the carrier for your airline. The baggage handlers for each airline are located either on the ground- or first-floor baggage reclaim halls. For further information on what to do when your luggage is lost, please also see our Lost Luggage page.
There are various options for your onward travel arrangements. There are good bus connections from Tenerife South Airport to a variety of destinations across the island. The bus stops are situated just opposite the arrivals hall.
Several car hire companies have desks in the arrivals hall. For the best deals and to ensure availability, it is usually better to book car hire in advance.
The taxi rank can be found right outside the terminal building. It may be a good idea to pre-book an airport transfer. That way, you can avoid queuing at the taxi rank, as your driver will already be waiting for you when you arrive.
If you need advice on hotels and apartments that can easily be reached from the airport or whether you would like to stay at a different location on the island, take a look at our Hotels page for more information.
