Tenerife South Airport has a single terminal and one runway of 3200 m in length.
It is the main airport for international tourism, while the island’s other airport (Tenerife North) caters more for national flights.
In 2023, the airport marked a significant milestone by handling 12 million passengers, setting a new record as the highest number of travellers in a single year since its opening.
Tenerife South is the second busiest airport in the Canary Islands and the seventh largest airport in terms of passenger volume in the airport operator Aena’s national network. In Spain, Aena runs a total of 46 airports.
Travellers from the United Kingdom and Germany account for more than half of the airport’s traffic.
As of winter 2024/25, a total of 55 airlines operate from Tenerife South Airport and you can fly to 114 different destinations.

Opening times
While the airport is operational 24 hours a day, the terminal building is closed to the public from 11pm to 6am. During this time, only employees and passengers (2 hours prior to scheduled flight departure) can access the building.
Location
TFS Airport is located in the south of the island along the TF-1 motorway, in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is close to the popular tourist resorts of Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje.
